There are four types of data in scholarly research. The data types are (a) nominal, (b) ordinal, (c) interval, and (d) ratio (Zhang, 1996). Nominal data refers to data differentiated by a categorical naming system. Ordinal data is numerical data used to rank order a set of entities or data points by position on a scale. Ordinal data is for sequencing only, it cannot be used to perform math. Interval data is divided into ranges and the distance between the intervals is consistent. The last data type is ratio. I am wondering if the questions or demonstration really captured my true attitude and emotions toward the topic. I felt as if I answered all of the questions properly and accurately. I did take the test second, but only due to the fact that the results from the first attempt stated that there was too many errors to determine a result. However, the second time around I read through the directions thoroughly and took my time answering the questions and statements given. I really do not think the test showed an implicit attitude that I did not know about, because personally I feel differently about the whole matter. Now even when I answered the survey statements and questions to/with agree, disagree, enjoyable, and eye opening. I am now rethinking each survey question. I am questioning myself that I did not really answer the survey truthfully. I cannot really say that this test means a lot to me. Because even with the results my feelings and attitude are still the same and worse. I know this test is supposed to help me find hidden emotions that I did not know I had, but now I still feel that I have not gotten to the true root or conclusion of my problem.
They have been some challenges in trying to figure out the right approach to follow in a research study, and this semester is more of an eye opener that reveals the expected ways in conducting research which has been a very interesting and tough process. Dudley (2011), least four major search strategies available for locating references related to the chosen topic issues these include: (1) consultation, (2) searches in subject indexes, (3) browsing, and (4) footnote chasing. Researcher needs to be aware of all of these strategies in information gathering.

Quantitative research expresses data in a numerical fashion and its main focus is to supply information and to determine relationships between variables (Guts, 2014). It is the most widely used research because it gives hard results and is quite easy to understand (Guts, 2014). Quantitative research can shape our behavior. For example, wearing a seatbelt in the car. People wear their seatbelts in the car because one, it is the law. Two, it became a law because of research that has been done, saying that wearing seatbelts protects the body more effectively when in car accidents than not wearing a seatbelt. The data is expressed numerically by showing statistics on people’s health when they have been in an accident either with a seatbelt on or off. Quantitative research is helpful when learning about unknown facts such as the importance of wearing a seatbelt.
