Four Days in September takes place in Brazil in 1969. It is a fictional version of the kidnapping of Charles Burke Elbrick, who was the U.S. ambassador at the time. It begins with a man named Fernando and his friend César who join an armed movement called the MR-8 and there goal is to overthrown the Brazilian dictatorship. The group successfully robs a bank; however, César is shot in the process and caught by Brazilian authorities. The MR-8 group plans to then kidnap the U.S. ambassador and giving the dictatorship a deal to release 15 prisoners in exchange for the U.S. ambassador. The group kidnaps the U.S. ambassador and Paulo releases the deal to the press. Eventually, the MR-8 group is sloppy and they get caught by Brazilian officials, but

Day of Infamy is a book written by Walter Lord, the book reconstructs that day from both sides and different perspectives of the aerial attack of Pearl Harbor. Lord, with many help of witnesses including generals, admirals, and families and men enlisted help piece together this story to be able and share with the world.

It all happened on Valentines Day, the morning of February 14th, 1929. This incident was call, "The St. Valentines Day Massacre". The man behind this infamous crime was none other than, the infamous Al "Scarface" Capone. Al Capone was the all time greatest mobster of all time. The idea of organized crime fascinates me in so many ways. Capone was the only person to have pulled off such a crime. Al Capone was top gangster in Chicago and was one of the greatest members of the Italian Mafia and George "Bugs" Moran was the leader of the Irish/German mafia and he was the main target behind this hit. He targeted Capone because Al Capones had a bounty on his head, $60,000,000, and found George Moran as a threat. George was Capone's biggest threat of all. He needed to take him out quickly. (Al Capone, True Crime Story). Writing this paper will let me learn a lot more about this massacre. There is one question I would like answered, "Why hadn't Moran's crew made an attempt to fight back?" (Al Capone, True Crime Story). Moran's men had a long history of being violent with others. This is one question that we will never know. My most used source on this essay will be internet information and a book. I feel these sources will give me the most amount of information. Using a magazine will too but it was very hard to find a 20's magazine article.

“The Day It Happened,” written by Rosario Morales, is a brave and strong story about a woman named Josie who once was madly in love with her husband Ramon in spite of being physically abused by him. Josie’s neighbors noticed the domestic violence, helping her create a friendship bond between them. The neighbors became a type of support group to her, like many woman have in today’s society, helping her gain strength to leave Ramon for their future child’s safety.
