“What are we going to eat?” is a big question that we ask ourselves three time a day. We are eating the same kinds of foods over and over again. Most of our foods come from the supermarket, but many of us do not know where the foods origins. Most people don't realize the nutrition facts behind the fact. They are just simply filling up the stomach. As Michael Pollan, the author of Omnivore’s Dilemma, states: “Industry food system is most important reasons that make people unhealthy and obesity. Yet, eating organic food are considering healthier than industry food.” I believed although industry foods have less nutrition, and bad effects on human, individual responsibilities serve as the most important factor of the obesity in United States. Eating industry food is your own responsibilities even though industrial food is convenience. People eat industry food especially fast-food because it is simple and fast. Many people are so busy at their life such as working, studying, and playing. We also no longer live in the old fashion days which women stay at home and do the housework. Fast-food restaurant is everywhere as you can see it today. It provided a fast and quick serve for you. Murray claim: “While you’re pumping your gas you punch in the Fritos, the Twinkies and the coke, and somebody brings it you your car. So the physical activity required to go in and get it is eliminated.”(qtd in murry 33). It is accessible in your daily activities. You can get it in a short period of time such as during lunch break at work and school. Brownlee states: “These guys ate at fast-food joints because they had absolutely no interest in cooking for themselves and didn’t give a rip about the nutritional quality of food. People can choose to refuse fast food yet fast food is very convenient to them. Although fast food is everywhere, there are also health foods everywhere. For example, the cafeterias in the universities have many different kinds of food. They have fast food but they also have salads and fruits. You can choose fried chicken with French fries or you can choose a subway sandwich with a salad for your meal. In conclusion, stop blaming the food industry that makes you fat while the choice is on your hand. If you really care about your health and your family member health, please spare some time and cook for your own food, read the label before buying food, limit the intake of your meal and finally take reasonability of what you put into your month.
