Drip, Drip, Drip. Is what was left of the spirit that had left the vehicle! Folklore has been around longer than the discovery of America. Folklore consist of a tale told by word of mouth rather than in writing and has been passed down from generation to generation. Just like the tale from Dallas Texas, the lady who has been haunting White Rock Lake since the early 1900’s. Folktales also have their boundaries as to which makes them different from ghost and fiction stories. In Folktale what distinguishes it from myths and fictional stories is, that Folktales are usually more localized, contains a certain region and has occurred years ago. “In Dallas Texas in the early 1900, one evening at White Rock Lake a tragic boat accident occurred and killed a young female around the age of twenty, who was wearing a white dress.” In 1943 the earliest case, a couple who was leaving the lake late one night was stopped by a lady who was seen dripping wet in a white dress. She has been described as pale skinned with blond hair. The lady stopped the couple and gave them the address on Gaston Avenue which, is about five miles from the lake, so the couple agreed to let her in the car and take her home. When the passenger turned to ask the lady a question the only thing left was a wet seat and no sight of the lady. Within those years this has occurred to many people who leave the lake late at night, another couple experienced the same thing and decided to go the address the lady gave them and knocked on the door and the elderly man that answered said their not the first ones to come to his house with the same story. The elderly man said that a couple of years ago his daughter died at the lake due to a boating accident. It is said to believe that the man must have grieved since she died and his daughter could not make it to heaven. Many people believe that the lady is trying to go
