Final Reflection
With the instruction of professor, we fulfilled three different kinds of writing projects for this semester. For the Writing Project 1, I explored the pathos, ethos and logos by means of analyzing a documentary. I chose Jia Jiang’s TED speech, 100 Days of Rejection. Because there are masses of details and stories I could take advantage of to confirm this documentary’s creditability. In addition, as for the Writing Project 2, I explored the issue of Arms Trade by analyzing multiple perspectives regarding a solution. That’s a great challenge for me. Furthermore, in my Writing Project 3 I proposed a series of solution to Everytown, a local organization fighting for the gun violence, to solve the problem of illegal arms trade. …show more content…

At the beginning of WP2, I really had no idea about how to write about a global issue. But after searching for the topics and resources through library guide, I gradually detected the objective, Arms Trade. Compared to my former assigned papers, WP2 is more like an academic paper. Actually, after I collected my resources and confirmed the general structure, it’s quite easy to compose my writing project 2. There is no doubt that the procedure of preparing is significant. What’s more, with the effective feedbacks of Professor Holladay, I attempted to perfect my essay again and again, especially increasing the portion of the relations between each texts.
In fact, I really like the part of group discussion in class because it’s a fantastic way to know about each classmate as well as we are able to exchange our perspectives and then developed a more comprehensive conclusion. Due to our different nationality, in this process, we could also get to know the differences between our cultures and educations. For example, I am from China, while some other classmates of our group are from other countries.
