INTRODUCTION “According to Trent Griffiths the filmmaker in the frame brings to the surface on underlying tension between the filmmaker as an author of reality and the filmmaker as a subject in reality”. In the film 9\11 the Naudet brothers initially in the beginning of the film they are the authors of reality because we see them as just ordinary firefighters going about their regular lives and routines of firefighters then they later become subject in reality as they witness at first hand both crashes and the collapse of the other building they get caught in the reality. As the second tower begins collapsing we see people running in fear trying to save them, we see others helping the injured ones escape as well. The documentary stress testimonial demonstrations. The Naudets brother 9/11 is a testimonial demonstration of and by the brothers as they witnessed the crashes and present the whole time. The footage is evidence they were there followed by commentary in interview form of question that as an audience might have. The filmmakers direct encounter make us feel as though were also seeing the crash happen as it opens us to their thoughts and the thoughts of those who were watching outside as Gideon films his interaction with them as they say what they saw explaining to other people who were outside as well but did not witness the crash, he films different people saying that to the camera and to other people. Gideon also films people crying outside as they interact with him pointing at the building saying that someone they know is inside and some words failing to come out. In the documentary there is commentary made for some of the footages and then there is commentary to which they show the interviewees making their testimonies and substantiated by a video or images for instance when the firefighters carried the priest’s body to the church and at the end the brothers saying how they felt after the
