“Everything changes and, somewhere along the line, i'm changing with it”(Eric Burdon). This quote means that people change at some point in their lives even though they don't think that they are going to change. Anderson gives us more insight into everything changes.“I saw fields of black, it was this disgusting black shit spread for miles. I saw walls of concrete fall from the sky and crush little wood houses”(PG 152). This means that he is dreaming about a riot that is taking place somewhere in the world. This shows that he is changing and starting to care about thing going on in the world. This matters because riots are happening in other places of the world because the feeds and America has so much power. His character is developing because his character in the beginning didn't care much about anything and now that Violet is around she started to educate him about the world and he is starting to care. A quote from the end of the book. “I could see my face, crying, in her blank eye”(Anderson 298). This means that Violet is almost dead her feed is at 4.6 percent and that you can almost see through her now because she is trapped in her own body. This happened because she went to a party earlier in the book and her feed got hacked and ever since then her feed has been deteriorating. This matters because Titus is now showing emotion towards someone that he really loves. At the beginning of the book he didn't care about the world or anyone in it and now at the end of the book he cares very deeply for things in the world and things that happen to people that he loves.
