Fast Food has taken over America. They implement their fat and greasy foods all over the world to make billions of dollars. Fast food is cheap, delicious, and convenient. However, what people don’t realize is that this food can be very harmful to your body. The fast food is full of calories, fats, and chemicals that are not the best healthy choice for your diet. Fast food has increased America’s overall obesity rates, and little is being done to stop it. People are constantly on-the-go, looking for fast and ready food to eat, but choosing to buy fast food could potentially damage your health. In the film, Food, Inc, they discuss the issues that fast food has given America. Fast Food is a dangerous substance that needs to be addressed. People need to know what fast food really is, the effect of fast foods, and how it can seriously impact your life and the lives of others. We have all heard of fast food, McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and many more. There is usually one or more in every major town in America. One of the reasons fast food is so popular is because you know exactly what you’ll be getting. A cheeseburger from Detroit, Michigan will taste almost exactly like a cheeseburger from Orlando, Florida. People may ask themselves, how is this possible? What is in our fast food? These questions are commonly arising that need to be answered. According to Dan Myers, fast food needs to be produced as cheaply as possible, quickly as possible, and with as much consistency as possible. Many people only think about how fast food can impact their own life, however what they do not realize is the fact that fast food is killing millions of animals. I personally realize this because my father owns a hog business, and I have seen how the system works. There are many things that the world does not know about that happens to their meat. People need to be informed about underlying facts that are hidden behind the food industry. Fast food is everywhere. It is so hard not to go into town and pass by a fast food joint without wanting to stop. Being a college student, I do not have much money to spend on food. To be honest, I probably have a fast food meal once a week. After watching the film Food, Inc. it really opened my eyes to the truth of the food industry. People need to be aware of fast food.
