In Italy there are many wonderful cities. There are also many things to do in Italy, especially in Florence. Florence has many reasons that it is famous in particular. There are many saved ruins, art, and historical buildings. Florence itself has a lot of history; this made them come out a stronger nation and a chance to show all their history of becoming a city. Florence is known for being a beautiful sight for a vacation or living permanently. Many famous people have come from the city itself and had become famous, including Niccolò Machiavelli, Michelangelo, and Leonardo de Vinci. Florence was also dubbed the most successful for culture achievement. Although Florence is the capital of Italy now, it didn’t used to be. Rome was once the capital of Florence for a long time. Florence became the capital in 1870. Along with the culture is their antique places. Most of the buildings were destroyed in World War II. The ruins are still there. Some may have been remodeled and made into modern buildings for businesses (Kertzer).
The Renaissance was a big movement that had succumbed many nations 1800’s. The idea was for many nations to change to modern technology and change their nature for the better. Although some people were ready for change, others were ready to be stuck living in the old time they knew as how they were raised. People thought it was a bad thing to change. “So Christianity was practiced to purify the people of Florence”(Hankins). Renaissance was started in Florence and spread all over the world. There were people who came to help and they were called the Florence Mud Angels in 1800’s. This disaster brought together many young people from around the world to come help clean up Florence. After World War 2 in Europe kids were inspired to travel to save and help people. Work camps were created and soon they focused on foreign travel more than they did people assisting. Tuscany was flooded, soon after the River Arno broke. In this occurrence flooded Florence. “Many of the art and foundations were destroyed in the flood”(Jobs). People went around looking for paintings to restore. After all the paintings were what Florence was famous for. The buildings were remodeled and restored to their old selves and some even became something more. To this day everyone remembers the flooding of Florence and how the cleaning turned the city into a more caring place
