Families in the 80’s can be very similar and different to today’s modern family. Families in the 80’s were very strict on just about every aspect in their lives. For example, kids had chores, jobs and had to deal with a lot of responsibility. Of course, the parents were very loving but sometimes controlling and communicated well with their kids which created a lot of respect in the household. In today’s modern family, kids have a great amount of slack. Parents today do not require their children to have jobs or chores, they do not have a lot of responsibility plus they are highly pampered. Parents did whatever they could to keep their kid happy and out of trouble. Everyone in the modern family is so busy with electronics and other distracting things they forget to communicate in the family. In the 80’s family communication was very important. Families were together all of the time and if they were not they made sure to reconnect together in different ways. The parents were very loving of their children and was very hard of letting their kids grow up. Meanwhile the 80’s family communication was important, in today’s modern family not so much. In the modern family like said before the parents will do anything to keep their kids out of trouble and out of the way. They will buy them anything and everything just to keep them satisfied.
