Nothing is worse than spending countless hours listening to the clock tick and tock back and forth while studying for the huge midterm at the end of the week. Trying to cram 18 weeks worth of information in one night, memorizing ten different formulas, along with seventy vocabulary words, and wondering why it’s necessary to know these things. That is, until the nerve racking moments, that are filled with anticipation, as the teacher slowly hands back the graded tests one at a time to anxious students who are hanging on the edge of their seats by a thread. Some student’s eyes light up with joy and satisfaction, others sigh with disappointment. Then there’s the Valedictorian of the class who arrogantly snatches his test out of the teacher’s hands
Failure happens to everyone on a daily basis while success only comes to those who push themselves to work hard.There are two types of people who cope with failure. The person who is typically successful does not see any benefits to failing and simply gives up. Meanwhile, the other person will accept their mistakes and see this as an opportunity to better themselves. Failure develops self-driven motivation within students and this ploy can be used throughout the rest of their lives for any situation. For example, the girl who didn’t make the varsity soccer team her freshmen year will have additional motivation within herself to practice harder so next year, maybe she will achieve her initial goal of making the varsity team. Instead of getting down on themselves, students will see any setback they encounter, only as motivation to do better. Nothing is more important than self motivation because it allows students to believe in themselves and know what they can achieve. Once they overcome one failure after another, they know they are capable of obtaining success. Failure will no longer be seen as only a disturbance, it will be seen as simply taking a different road to
