In this time and age, as the evolution of industries occurred there are over 125 million companies in the world (Quora). All these companies have one major goal in common, sell as many products as possible and make money. Some of these companies try their best to make their image attracting, ethical, environmentally friendly, etc. All companies have dark hidden secrets that if one were to blow the companies’ cover, it could lead to consumers boycotting their products, trash-talking the company and it could even lead to the shut down of a company. There will never be that one company that is perfect. All companies have secrets; there will always be pros and cons. Apple for example is one of those companies and it’s definitely a favorite. Apple treats over sea workers horribly, which is a disgrace. “Tens of thousands of other unhappy workers had quit, charging long hours, low pay, military-style drills, force over time, verbal abuse and harsh punishments.” (Hawthorne 93) Many workers are so miserable and this is their way of life. Some workers even go to the extremes of committing suicide, because the abuse its too much. Others suffered serious injuries from the toxic working conditions. Without those workers there would be no production of the Apple products, why treat them like they are nothing? Apple is unmoral with treating these workers horribly, they are human beings and they deserve the same rights as all the other workers of Apple. For example, “Wal-Mart had been part of 44 lawsuits in 31 states involving several thousands of current and former employees who had their wages and hours tampered with and abused” (Muntasser Wiki #5) It is amazing how Apple and many other multi-billion companies, will do anything to save money even if it means giving the worst wages. They pay the workers $2 an hour, that is $5.25 less than the average minimum wage in the U.S (KPCC).
