Veil of ignorance is how a person defines what topics are ethically and morally right. Some examples of some controversial issues are racism, slavery, and immigration laws. Rawl states the idea of using moral desert will not work because each individual has their own morals, and can create a very broad range of understanding of what is right and wrong in society. It also in composes the idea that rules are made for societies without taking into consideration the peoples struggles, issues, and adversity. Along with what these individuals living in these communities capable of accomplishing, it does not take into consideration the ambitions and attributes that they poses. It does not allow people to decide what rankings they will hold in their societies. The difference between the poor addicts and the upper class addicts is the fact that the upper class can afford treatment and the poor cannot. This also allows for the rich to not be charged with possession with intent to sale, considering the fact that they tend to buy large quantity of drugs because they can afford it. It allows society to not past judgement but to understand that this is an issue that all citizens can experience regardless of their social class. Mental illnesses should be treated as such. It should not be treated with incarceration. Being incarcerated only causes mental illnesses to elevate, it does not in anyway better the situation. It also over crowds the jails and prisons. These people with medication or therapy are fully capable of giving to society in some way. Mental illnesses can sometimes be internal and the other people surrounding you will never know. Instead of being arrested for public disturbance, one should be taken into custody and evaluated before sentenced to jail
