Have you ever wanted to visit an exotic, tropical island like Jamaica? Jamaica is an extremely interesting country when it comes to its physical and human geography. Jamaica’s physical geography is made up of a numerous amount of features. Some of these features will include rocks and minerals, landforms, plant and animal life, and the climate. We can also look at the soils, environment, and the oceans. These can all contribute to the physical geography of Jamaica. The human geography of Jamaica is just as remarkable as the physical geography. The features that go along with the human geography are features such as the population, recreational activity, and the political systems. It also includes the religion of Jamaica, social traditions, and economic activities. Jamaica is a country that has a picturesque layout to the land when it comes to the physical and human geography of the country.
Jamaica is made up of a couple of different rocks and minerals. These rocks and minerals are what make up their landforms such as their mountain ranges and plains. The main groups of rocks that make up Jamaica from oldest to youngest are early Cretaceous, late Cretaceous, Paleocene, Eocene, Oligocene, Miocene, Pliocene, and Pleistocene (users.skyne.be). These rocks range from 120 million years old to 2 million years old. In Jamaica, they have made an obelisk monument that has all the different rocks stacked onto each other to show the age of them. The oldest of the rocks being on the bottom and as you go up on the monument the rocks get younger. The obelisk was built in February of 1984(users.skynet.be). Jamaica has all the main forms of transportation. A person can travel by boat, car, bus, bike, or through the air (Lonely Planet). Transportation in Jamaica is never an issue when trying to get somewhere.
Jamaica is an extremely exotic and tropical island when it comes to all of its different features. It has so many different landforms such as the Blue Mountains or the St. Elizabeth River. The plant and animal life is just amazing with all the tropical birds or even the beautiful flowers. Jamaica’s human life is just as tremendous. The families in this country trust each other and they are the most important things in each other’s lives. Jamaica seems like an amazing place to live and visit as a tourist.
