The theory of existentialism is about freedom and the purpose of life, but in 1984 the totalitarian government eliminates the society's true freedom. In George Orwell's 1984 the described lifestyle is controlled by a totalitarian, fascist type of government. Citizens are constantly being spied on by Big Brother. To create an alternate state the government tries to deny the reality and create an imaginary enemy to create a war that continuously last. Big Brother is able to rewrite history without any questions asked.
