The Devil: The True Representation of Evil When people imagine the Devil they picture a horned evil being with flesh as red as blood and has horns coming out of his head. The Devil can be recognized in any shape or form, through the representation of objects, animals, or even a human being. Even though the devil represents any form of life in “Annabelle Creation” he portrays a porcelain doll that does not only look evil but he becomes aggressively possessive. Additionally, the Devil represents a lonely evil ghostly spirit that possesses human beings in “The Conjuring”. Shadows in the dark can also be a representation of the Devil in “Lights Out”.More importantly, the Devil is recognized as a normal man that is dark and evil in “The Man in the Black Suit”. When connecting similar movies and stories Devils are manipulative. After Gary takes a substantial risk he meets the Devil and all he can say is, “I’ve come with bad news. Your mother is dead” (55). He manipulates Gary into thinking that his mother has passed away suddenly, but he does not give in to the Devil’s control. This petrifying horror story can be connected to the movie “Annabelle Creation”. After a recent death in the family, the mother has to make a decision when her daughter wants to come back to life in the shape of the doll: Annabelle. She soon believes it is not her daughter; it is a demonic presence that manipulates the mother into giving the Devil her soul. The evil presence in both the movie and the story is a trickster that manipulates them into believing the devil is truthful. Additionally, the man in the black suit says, “It was your mother who passed a fatal weakness on to your brother Dan; you got some of it, but you also got protection from your father that poor Dan somehow missed” (57).
