Reflection Paper: Evidence-Based Management Evidence-based management (EBMgmt) uses a combination of critical thinking and best available evidence to make management decisions (Stichting Center for Evidence Based Managment, n.d.). Additionally, EBMgmt refers to the use of the “scientific method used to manage organizations” (White & Griffith, 2016, p. 29). EBMgmt relies greatly on performance measurement, best practice, facts and quantitative statistics (White & Griffith, 2016). As such, leaders should expect and be prepared to answer questions, of varying difficulty, that will occur as the result of an EBMgmt approach. Topics in which EBMgmt may be utilized might include staffing, performance management, setting goals, employee motivation, marketing, offered services, and quality improvement.
