The film Everest directed by Baltasar Kormakur is a true story about a group of adventure consultants who treck on Everest and plans dont go as interpreted. My scene focuses on Beck Weathers who is laying down on the snow, frostbitten and currently dead said by the rest of his team. This scene shows us Becks determination and will to survive and prove that nothing is impossible even is you're in the worst possible situation. Kormakur uses four aspects to show this Lighting, Camera Work, Editing and Sound to show the depth and importance of this scene. Kormakur uses non-diegetic music (sound) by the use of violins and pianos and normally instruments that are used in soft orchestras to show us that their is still hope for Beck to survive and …show more content…

The Directors purpose in this scene is to show us the calm and very relaxing enviroment with a very hopeful and motivational piece of music. The Director is also trying to give us a message saying that sometimes you just have to wait for the right moment to succedd because in the movie a few scenes back Kormakur shows us a very stormy and dangerous Everest also showing Beck dead but now it is a very calm enviroment with the sun shining and a motivational piece of music playing telling us that now is the moment for Beck which results in us knowing the fact that he is still alive. Kormakur also uses Camera work by the use of camera shots. This aspect helps us understand Beck and his current situation even more because we get to see the pain he is in and how determined he is to get of Everest, we also get a more in-depth look at what type of enviroment Beck is in. Firstly the director uses the Establishing shot. Through this shot we see the clouds the snow and the sun surrounding the mountain which helps us learn that Beck is in a very relaxing and satisfying enviroment "almost
