The goal of Paul’s missions is to preach the gospel to Jews and Gentiles, who live in Jerusalem, Illyricum and Spain. His message was focus on the reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ, who is the Savior of all.
The meaning of the gospel (euangelion) is “good tidings,” which translated from Latin word. However, the word euangelion is not referring to gospel all the time. The plural form of euangelion, which is euangelia is used for emperor cult; because Augustus won the civil war, people think that Augustus brought “salvation” from the civil war.
The verb form of euangelion is euangelizomai, which means “to announce, tell, deliever a message.” Euangelizomai shows reign of God’s kingdom, the victory over His enemies, and the arrival …show more content…

Since, Paul emphasizes the unification of fellow believers, not merely preaching the gospel to people, he built churches (the body of Christ), where people can gather together by the name of God and Jesus Christ to worship Him, to study the Bible to learn how God wants them to live their lives, and to celebrate Him. Moreover, Paul’s letters were sent to the churches most of times, not to a specific person, which represents Paul’s concern was for gathered Christians.
The purpose of the gathering as a church is to edify Jews and Gentiles. Jews needed to learn the new behavior as Christians, and Gentiles needed to change their life-pattern into the life according to the Bible.
A further goal of Paul’s missions was to train new missionaries. Those coworkers, who participated Paul’s journey, were actively trained by him. Paul listed nine different labels for the coworkers: “brothers, apostle or envoy, servant, slave, companion or partner, workers, soldiers, fellow-prisoner, and fellow-worker”
