Identifying Information Bettina appears to be a trouble Child, I can only image the Parents dilemma in having to place Bettina in a boarding school. Then to know that Bettina has made several suicide attempts. Bettina parents was facing a difficult choice in placing their child in a boarding school or hospital for health life style. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Suicide is the third leading cause of death among adolescents, accounting for a greater number of deaths than the next seven leading causes of death combined for 15- to 24-year-olds, Almost 1 in 12 adolescents in high school made a suicide attempt, and 17% of adolescents seriously considered making a suicide attempt, in the calendar year 2005 (CDC, …show more content…

I did not read where the counselor make any case notes about what was happen with Bettina, I never read that the counselor meet with their boss and came up with a plan of action to help the child or interview her to see why she’s trying to kill herself and the most important thing of them all the counselor never reported to Bettina parents about what the child behavior was because he feels that she manipulative.
Ethical standards help to educate members about sound ethical conduct provide a mechanism of accountability Improve professional practice. The counselor never inform the parents and legal guardians of the confidential nature of the counseling.
