The University of Guelph-Humber Justice studies program instills to students that professionalism is to follow student conduct in order to succeed in school. Justice is a program that the topic drugs is something fearful and to be swept under the carpet, rather investigating the fundamental aspects and benefits to marijuana. Marijuana is seen as a drug which drives and controls human impulses and is an ethical issue that cannot be an effective treatment. As my years of studying are near to the end I have reached the ethical dilemma of whether to continue recreational marijuana use while be in the criminal Justice field. After smoking a couple times I began to enjoy and believed that I still am able to perform tasks. I volunteer with the department of security at Humber college and am an active volunteer with the school. I believe that to be considered a good person is through considerable and virtuous acts which conflicts with if society deems marijuana as a noble and honest act. My constructed perspective of what a police officer is someone who has integrity and respects the laws. I truly believe that I work hard and train in order to prove to my colleagues that something that is not deemed as a norm is not harmful and beneficial to the person's well-being. The theoretical perspective that will analyze the ethical dilemma of recreational marijuana use will be with virtue ethics looking at Aristotle's belief of human actions are based with reasoning and deontological ethics arguing Kant’s reasoning towards determining whether the act is good or bad is in the intention of doing
