Essay: The Apology Of Socrates

The theme of the essay made me think about many issues. Based on the fact that the topic is presented as a question, it became clear to me that it is necessary to distinguish several stages in the search for answers. Firstly, I have carefully read the Plato’s text which is called “The Apology of Socrates” and highlighted the main ideas that caught my attention. Secondly, I was wondering about the teacher's role in human life. Accordingly, I found the information about life and activities of Socrates. Third, based on these materials, I think about if I could learn from Socrates. Fourth, there is an important question: would Socrates have agreed to take me as an apprentice? Once I have answered all these questions, I was able to formulate my answer to the question: Would I like to have Socrates as my teacher? The apology is a defense speech of Socrates in a legal proceeding in Athens in 399 BC after speeches of his accusers were heard. This speech consists of three parts: a speech for the defense before judges, speeches about a measure of punishment and the address to judges after pronouncement of the death penalty. Whether I was ready to study at Socrates? Have I been able to stand out from the crowd and go my own, slightly different way? After all the idea of activity of Socrates consists of the efforts need to be aimed at the development of moral and virtue. I like to read, study, be improved, but whether I am ready to refuse comfort and the benefits which we can get for money? To be honest, I wouldn’t. Most likely, I would prefer to learn and develop in a comfortable environment. I know that the difficulties temper a person and “Per aspera ad astra.” But no one stops to look for opportunities to provide a decent life and moral
