Katharine is then told by his “loving” husband to get ready in her best outfit to meet his dad at his house. The tailor then enters the scene, and Petruchio sends the man to get a bigger cap than he initially brought for his wife. Katharine told Petruchio that she is able to talk for herself, and shows more of a dominant role in the relationship that was not initially expressed before. Then, although Katherine thinks highly of the dress, Petruchio fires the tailor after complaining about the dress that he made. Act 1, Scene 1: A Desert Place Three witches come into scene with sounds of thunder, as well as flashes of lighter. These three witches are together to figure out when they are going to meet with Macbeth. They eventually agree to meeting Macbeth at sunset once the battle has concluded. 2. Act 1, Scene 2: A Camp Near Forres Duncan comes into the scene and concludes the sergeant that he notices is there to tell him of the war. Malcolm tells Duncan that the sergeant saved him while in battle. The sergeant speaks very highly of Macbeth, and tells of his victorious feats while on the battlefield. Lennox and Ross then come into scene and state that the Duncan’s trust has been divulged by the Thane of Cawdor, but still won the battle with the help of Banquo and Macbeth. Banquo and Macbeth eventually arrive, and talk to the witches. They question them, wondering what they are, and despite getting a straightforward answer they tell Macbeth of his future. The witches tell Macbeth that he is to eventually become the Thane of Cawdor, and in due course become king. Astonished by these tellings, Banquo asks the witches about his future, and he is told that his sons will eventually become king. As any man would be, Macbeth and his partner question these seemingly unofficial prophecy, until Angus and Ross come into scene. They tell Macbeth that he has indeed become the new Thane of Cawdor, which settles Macbeth’s suspicions on whether or not these foretelling’s are true although Banquo remains suspicious, since the witches were not completely
