What is waste?
Wastes are the products of our consumptions in our daily life routines such as lunch, work, school and other things we do. Little things such as throwing out a piece of paper, we are producing waste by the seconds. After we consume a product we usually throw out what’s left that can’t be consumed any further. Results in producing waste, substance that are born after it’s been use or consume by us. At the end of each day we throw out a bag full of garbage, all of the materials in that bag (paper towels, cans, leftover foods and many other material’s) all of these are waste. Hospitals produce medical waste such as use needles for treating patients. Corporations produce papers, plastics, tires, steels, cans and many other type of solid waste which contribute to the pollutions that cause health risk and other environmental issues.
The solid wastes are produce not only by households; it’s contributed by hospitals and corporations. Hospitals throw away bandages, use needles and latex gloves, these items hospitals throw away daily all the time because they can’t be reuse for the safety of its patients. Corporations throw away a lot of waste as well such as papers that they use whether in writing or in projects. All of these leftovers after consumptions are waste that is produced by our daily actions.
Waste disposal methods?
New York has three common methods of getting rid of our waste. The three methods mention below some of the major ways that New York sanitation use to get rid of the garbage generated by households, corporations, hospitals and many other organizations.
1. Transfer Stations
2. Recyclables Handling and Recovery Facilities
3. Solid Waste Landfills

...pare to 2013 fiscal budget. Even though I said earlier that recession requires a lower budget right, in this case we see an increase of funds. But it makes us wonder where the funds come from? The answer is simple that makes me laugh. Deep CUTS to other programs that are where we can get the extra money for extra funding for other programs. Without a doubt in my mind that the world we live in is endanger because of environment issues and global warming. Increase in the sanitation means more workers, better environment and clean air for all of us. In the department of Sanitation report produce by the New York City, it also presented me information about budget cuts (5.9 million) to other programs. Not to convince anyone to do anything all, of this is to provide a clear image of how moneys is handle and actions needs to be taken in order to get things done
