2.0 INTRODUTION
In this chapter, I came out with three main ideas of literature review that this literature review may help in order to find the answer for my research question. This literature review divided into three main parts, it is about the variety of the vegetable, the transport for the vegetable and the pricing of goods.
2.1 PERLIS MARKET
Perlis is the smallest state in Malaysia. It lies at the northern part of the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia and has the Satun andSongkhla Provinces of Thailand on its northern border. It is bordered by the state of Kedah to the south. The formal name for Perlis is Perlis Indera Kayangan. In Perlis there are a lot of district, in each of the district there have a market that sell raw food such as vegetable, chicken, meat, fish and etc. Each of the district have about 2 to 3 market each.
2.2 TYPE OF VEGETABLE
In this world, there are many types of vegetable that can be found. In a different country there on country. In terms of cuisine, vegetables are edible plants or in part, intended for cooking or eating raw. In biological terms, "vegetables" represent the members of the plant kingdom. Definition of non-biological vegetables are largely based on culinary and cultural tradition . In addition to vegetables, the other major type of plant foods is fruits, whole grains and nuts. Vegetables are most often eaten as a salad or cooked in savory or salty dishes, while the fruit is usually sweet dishes and used for dessert, but it's not universal rule. Therefore, this division is somewhat arbitrary, based on the view of culture. Tracy Van Der Heijden and Mbofholowo Tsedu make an analysis on the impact of the fuel prices and the impact of the food price in the South Africa. This research is to help the small portion of all informal trader and small business to reduce the high pricing on the retails goods by making them a member of the FABCOS. They try to access the key factors that associated with escalating food and the fuel price and to develop a medium-term outlook of the impact of various scenarios that occurs around food and fuel prices on the specified small business. The influence of both factors has different responses. They provide a several ways for the small business can ameliorate the impact of rising fuel prices on their direct business costs and these are largely related to ownership of modes of transport, which could be facilitated toward a group scheme, such as FABCOS.

Farmer markets have always been around and a strong reason to believe that they will still be around long after our time. There are several reasons why this age old tradition still exitst today and revolves around a very common question, “What does a buyer find important when they are about to buy food to be consumed, or how the produce is grown/manufactured, processed, marketed, and distributed. Supporting farmer markets and ensuring fair trade among the dealer and the seller can help promote healthier lives while building stronger communities. There are several reasons to support a community’s farmer market event because buying true locally grown food can allows the buyer to have options to food that is picked fresh and tastes better than what is sold in the supermarkets. Another benefit to farmers markets is that the food is sustainable, flavorful, supports local farms, and also in some areas, part of the proceeds goes to the unfortunate within that community. Michael Pollan makes arguments concerning the eating habits of the average American. Pollan suggests, in spite of our cultural norms, we should simply “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly Plants.”
Currently, there is a global demand emerging for organic products specifically a huge consumer demand in the United States and Europe. The United States ranks fourth in organically farmed land globally, and sales of organic food have increased by almost a factor of six, from $3.6 billion in 1997 to $21.1 billion in 2008 (Reganold, Andrews, Reeve, Carpenter-Boggs, Schadt, Alldredge, Ross, Davies, Zhou, 2010). In the United States, organic farming has gained much popularity in the farm sector, mainly due to the new wave or generally recognized as healthy food products (Uematsu, Mishra, 2012).
The Costs of Organic Foods: The Food Industry’s Biggest Lies Truly organic foods are hard to come by, and, the price of organic foods has become unparalleled to the costs of ailing fast foods. The average American has easy access to fast foods, but struggles to find truly organic foods, causing the obesity rates to skyrocket. Obesity seems to be a constantly rising epidemic in America, but we as Americans seem to be oblivious to the obvious. Buying organic whole foods may seem to be the solution to the problem, yet the issue seems to lie deeper. Is it not coincidental that in the most underdeveloped parts of America, the only available local food options are fast food restaurants and gas stations?
Nutritionism and Today’s Diet Nutritionism is the ideology that the nutritional value of a food is the sum of all its individual nutrients, vitamins, and other components. In the book, “In Defense of Food” by Michael Pollan, he critiques scientists and government recommendations about their nutritional advice. Pollan presents a strong case pointing out the many flaws and problems that have risen over the years of following scientific studies and government related warnings on the proper amount of nutrients needed for a healthy diet. Pollan’s main point is introducing science into our food system has had more of a negative impact than a positive one, we should go back to eating more of a traditional diet. America is a capitalist society. It should come to a surprise when we live like this daily. We work for profit. We’ll buy either for pleasure or to sell later for profit. It should come to no surprise that our food is made the same way because we are what we eat. We are capitalist that eat a capitalist meal. So we must question our politics. Is our government system to blame for accepting and encouraging monopolies?
Is agribusiness a good thing or a bad thing? To define agribusiness, it is agriculture conducted on commercial principles, especially using advanced technology. For example, science can modify a seed to make it a hybrid of itself or they can inject hormones in dairy cows to make them produce more milk. While most critics think that it’s not right for science to genetically modify our crops or animals, supporters think it is good for the ever growing population. I am still on the fence about agribusiness, but there are two sides to every story.
The term “organic” is almost everywhere in modern society, whether it’s used to promote a product or it’s debated on whether it really benefits the human diet. Organic food is heavily debated on as it appears more and more in local grocery stores and farmers markets begin to populate, it raises questions such as “Is organic food better than food grown with pesticides and biologically engineered genes?” and “Are there benefits to eating organically over foods grown in any other way?” In terms of what data and results show in research may help lead to answers to most of the heavily debated issues throughout discussions on organic food.
In Genesis 1:29, God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.” From the beginning God has given us food for life. Plants, meats, trees, and fruits are offered to us as a means of sustenance from the very same God who made them long ago.
