A minister of Jesus Christ is some one who is used to convey the will of Jesus Christ. This is a title that is special indeed, but not so exclusive that there should only be one minister of Christ per church like there would be one pastor per church. Any one who is a born-again individual can be a minister of Jesus Christ, but does this mean that you are necessary called to be a minister of Jesus Christ?

Based on Paul’s writings found in 1 Corinthians, if you are saved you are no longer a slave to the world, but called to be a servant of Jesus Christ. We live in the world, but we are not to be of the world. As faithful servants of Christ, our doctrine must be correct and must be able to correct others who might be in error. In the day and age we live in, the very fundamentals of our faith are being attacked round about. There are doctrines we take for granted that are being excluded from churches and the Bible itself is being made void as a significant source of truth and moral value. These doctrines are being replaced by the philosophies of man and it’s all a result of a lack of studying God’s word. Pastors are being voted out of churches because the people want a pastor that pleases them and makes them feel good instead of preaching God’s word.

A good minister of Jesus Christ should be consecrated. Consecrated means to be set apart for sacred purposes. You need to have the mind set of giving Christ your life and making it what it should be for him; your goal should be to fulfill the call of God on your life. One needs to be able to maintain a holy life style in order to be a minister of Jesus Christ. This means one might have to stay away from some things like Paul mentions in 2 Timothy 2. It’s not that one is trying to act as if they are better than any one, but one needs to have a higher standard to be a minister of
