In today’s time we are living in a world full of competitions. Everyone is having that urge to fight in order to survive. Every business needs a strategy that will make the business a successful one. The question is how effective that marketing strategy is? Nowadays, consumers are not like before that are easy to catch their attention, they are realistic and meticulous. Customers know what they want.
Marketing strategies involves the tactics and techniques that could help the firm to succeed. Thus, it could also lead to failure. In that case, the firm must avoid carelessness. Different marketing strategies can affect the behavior of the consumers and sellers.
There are different kinds of marketing strategy that can be used in order to promote the products and services of the business. They are social, augmented, direct, relationship, services, person, organization, place, differential, dynchro, concentrated marketing. Social Marketing, it refers to the design, implementation and control of programs to increase the acceptability of a social cause or practice among people e.g. No Smoking campaign in Delhi University, publicity campaign for casting vote.. Augmented Marketing it refers to providing additional services by way of innovative offerings and benefits to the customers to increase his level of satisfaction e.g. free home delivery service by Supermarkets. Direct Marketing, marketing through various advertising media that interact directly with consumers, generally calling for the consumer to make a direct response, e.g. Catalogue Selling, Mail-order, Tele-calling and TV shopping. Companies undertake marketing to understand what kind of products will appeal to the consumers, to design and manufacture these products, to facilitate purchase and use of these products by making them easily available to the customer at competitive prices, and by communicating to the customer’s information about the product to influence their purchases in favour of company's products. Understanding the role of marketing helps the consumers to understand how companies can influence their behavior so that they can avoid unhealthy manipulation of their behavior by companies. For example it might help a person realize how a company is creates an attractive false image of a product, appealing in subtle ways to emotions and desires of people, even when the product is incapable of delivering the value implied in the image created.
