Discrimination is defined as the detrimental behaviors directed to individuals or a group of people based on a particular category that they fall under. Prejudice has to do with the irrational attitudes and opinions that a person or group of people has about another. Discrimination and prejudice are and always have been two of the largest problems in our global society Religious and LGBT discrimination and prejudice are two particular forms that I would like to focus on.
Gay rights are a prevalent issue not only in the United States, but also in the Global Society as a whole. Homosexuals are often discriminated and prejudiced against. There are many different reasons for why discrimination and prejudice occur in society, so it is hard to say exactly why it is such a reoccurring problem. Broadly, discrimination and prejudice occur because people see themselves as superior to others merely based on their differences, and use it as an excuse to act unjustly. I hate that this follows from generation to generation and that there is virtually no way to completely erase this controversy from society. In reference to my articles, I do not think that legal discrimination should be allowed whatsoever. The name in itself “legal discrimination” sounds so wrong. How can it bee deemed legal to judge others based on biological or preferential aspects of life.
