To what extent is America the greatest country in the world? America is known for being the land of the free and the home of the brave. It seems as if the country’s patriotic citizens are naturally inclined to express the need to inform the rest of the world that the United States is the greatest country in the world. American exceptionalism resides in the minds of millions of American citizens and its leaders. It exists for the sole purpose of control. When a group, race or nation believes themselves to be exceptional, it can blind them to the problems that exist around them. It is widely thought that the United States is the most expensive healthcare system in the world, but many continue to believe that these individuals pay more for healthcare because they get better health which is further from the truth. On matters dealing with efficiency, the United Statesranks last among the 11 countries, with the U.K. and Sweden ranking first and second due to the universal health care system. The United States also has poor performance on measures of national health expenditures and administrative costs as well as on measures of administrative hassles, emergency room use, and medical testing. (Munro, Dan) Based on the evidence stated above, it is clear to see that although America has its qualities that make it a great country it is not the greatest country that it once was. Many people are quick to say that America is in fact the greatest country in the world because of freedom, but most other countries have freedom as well and much more. America has many qualities that make it an amazing country to live in, but there are still many issues that Americahas to work on before the country can get back on top as it was
