Another research questions asks whether prior experiences with interracial friendship increases students’ proclivity to form interracial friendships in college. The final question asks how various aspects of the college environment are related to the racial composition of students’ friendship networks. 2. This article uses nomothetic explanations. It explains the findings in a very general type of way. The patterns shown are also more general and the article doesn’t go as much into the specifics. Because of the nature of the experiment, the article uses deductive reasoning. When they found that their pool of whites have a lower proportion of interracial friendships, they assumed that all whites have a lower proportion of interracial friendships.
