Within the equine industry, that are many different careers that one can look into. Although, I haven’t been as experienced on the science end of the industry. I have become engrossed within the science and the welfare of performance horses. I work very hard to learn as much inside and outside of the classroom. The ability to go abroad to Hartpury College in Gloucester, England will give me a well-rounded education of the equine sciences. When dealing with horses and their possible injuries, it is important to have as much knowledge as possible so you can truly treat the horse to the best of your ability. The ability to be away from my friends and family, while still exceling at school will give me a true taste of adulthood and life after graduation. Not only will the independence of studying abroad help me in my personal life, but it will help me within my academic and career futures. The classes that Hartpury provides builds off of several of the classes that I have taken here at Centenary, but will go more in depth and give me a well-rounded knowledge of the science and biomechanics of the horse and other animals that I may come in contact with in my future vet practice. Which will provide me with the knowledge that is needed for when I apply to graduate school. Although, I’m not applying to go to a faraway country that speaks a foreign language to me. The culture that England and the United Kingdom is known so well for, will be a great learning experience. I had worked with many people from the United Kingdom and helped them acclimate to the United States with only the dreams to be able to experience the United Kingdom culture that they have all grown up
