In the journal of effects of parental separation and divorce on very young children they tell us about mayor effects on young children when facing divorce. It tells us that shared parenting is one of the major ones and it tells us the effect on the child specifically. In the Journal we also read that one of the effects of divorce is gaining a disobliged parent. After reading the journal we learn that psychological distress is also a factor of divorce that affects the child. Divorce diminishes parenting and it adds itself to another effect of divorce on a child. Of course when divorce comes in the picture there is an economic impact that comes into effect for the young child. Psychological distress is not something that affects a child directly, it is something that indirectly affects the child. After divorce takes place in a relationship most women have stated that they have came across a variety of negative emotions. These emotions include anguish, rage , despair, loneliness, and they feel uncontrollable. Most divorce women that fall into depression after divorce remain this way for years. Having mothers in this emotional condition is not a positive influence on a child. Depending on the stage of the depression of the mother is the level of problems the child will …show more content…

Mothers no longer have time to stimulate the child or dedicate time to provide affection. Having a mother that is working to maintain a household takes focus from the child and it reduces consistent discipline. Having diminished parenting and this life changing event impacts a child greatly in a negative way specifically at a young age.
After there is a divorce in the household it economically affects it, the husband may move out and the income may drop drastically. This may cost distress in the mother and may lead to unloading on the child. This may affect the mother and the child’s relationship causing it to be rocky. Unloading on the child may cause distance between the mother and the child since the child will have fear of the mothers rage. Having a low income reduces the child’s benefits also it may prevent him/her from being in a sport or other things that cost
