SMACK! That is the sound of me running into the person walking in front of me. Someone might ask, “Why did you run into this person?” In this situation I was focused more on reading the text message that had just appeared on the screen on my cell phone than paying attention to where I was going. This is one situation of many where I find my self distracted by my cell phone. Out of all of life’s situations, I find myself most distracted by my technology while I am driving my car, sitting in class, and working out at the gym. If I scroll through Instagram I will see tons of workout adds that all say the same thing, “Do you want thighs with that perfect thigh gap, and to have a tighter bottom? Well do my thirty minute bottomtastic workout and see fantastic results in just thirty days time!” This is something that I tend to focus on more when I am working out rather than what I actually need to be focusing. I let the technology distract me with these videos of workouts that they think I should be doing. When on the inside, I know what workouts I should be doing. Another thing that distracts me while working out at the gym is my music. When I am working out, I need that perfect workout song. The perfect song that gets my heart pumping just right and makes me feel good about myself at the same time. So, while I am running I get really into this song, and three minutes pass. I then have to stop to change the song. It then will probably take me a minute or two to find a new song. Then, as I reach the end of my workout I realize I spent more time looking for a song than I did working out. Without technology, I would be more focused when working out at the
