It is often believed that the way we choose to manage things defines the outcome. But who can say with certainty what the correct way of doing things is? When it comes to academic performance the amount of effort put into work is not the only factor that determines whether a student is going to be successful or not; personality, style and perception also play a key role. Students tend to be distinguished by the label “active” or “passive” regarding their rate participation and means for success. But even though they employ different methods of engagement, active and passive students are equally efficient. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.”

Active students like to be “on top of their game”. They are very organized and approach academic work in a very consistent fashion. They strive for excellence and in its pursuit tend to take risks. In the course of work they develop habits and like to display their knowledge. Active students spend their free time reading books or articles that may be beneficial in some way or doing some other kind of brainstorming activities. Their overall character can be defined as rushed. Active students always meet deadlines, in fact they finish the assignments long before the due date. They tend to spend a lot of time revising and improving their work, even if it means reducing sleep hours and skipping meals. There are many different types of students. All students have their own way of studying and learning material.
