A common error that people make is that the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th our national Independence day in the United States, but the truth is that the document was only approved on July 2nd and wasn’t even signed until August 2nd. The document was signed by 56 colonial delegates, and was used to explain why they want to break free from Britain. This document consists of 4 parts, statement of purpose, the contract theory of government, grievances, and the conclusion, the two major parts are the contract theory of government, grievances; they make up the bulk of the document. The colonists wanted to officially split from Britain due to the many unjust things Britain had done. The Declaration of Independence was a list of those unjust things and who gave them the authority to split.

The grievances focus around the colonists main problems, law, economy,military, representation, and courts. The grievances are an attachment to the contract theory of government, it says how Britain took away the colonist freedom and government. One of the main grievances for laws is, “He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.”. This grievance talks about how the king had no real care for the colonists and was more concerned about how giving the colonies more power would affect his reign over his “empire”. One of the main grievances for the economy was how they cut off trade with the rest of the world disallowing them freedom. The Declaration of Independence also talks about how the colonists have tried to negotiate by putting out other petitions; they were answered with war or disregarded completely. The Declaration was for the colonists to seek for independence. On July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed. The thirteen colonies were no longer under King George III rule. It was a new world that needed a new type of leadership. On July 12, 1776 the Second Congress proposed the Articles of Confederation. The articles were ratified by all thirteen states on March 1, 1781.
When in the course of the household we, the teens, have always had the responsibility of doing the chores around the house.When oneself has to do chores one has to miss out on hanging out with friends, going to the mall, et cetera. Of course we do not wish to be disrespectful toward our parents but it is now time that we write our own Declaration of Independence. It is important that our parents or guardians know how everyone feels about the chores that have been placed on us and why we should be independent.
The shot heard around the world happened in Lexington when the killed 8 colonist. Soon British retreated back to Boston fighting all the away. Finally the declaration of independence was written in 1776 by Thomas Jefferson. An import aspect came to form this document was the French would side with the Americans if we separated from Britain. Only one state was against it, New York. He listed more than two dozen specific grievances about the king and about slavery. On July 4th the declaration of independence was a success and a moth later they went to sign the official parchment copy. The document was printed and read everywhere in celebration.
There are many events that have happened in our history that have helped shape our country into what it is today. One of those events that helped change our country was the Decleration of Independance. The Declaration of Independence was written on July 4th, 1776. And this document was written so we were separate from England and so we weren’t under their power anymore. It meant that we were going to become a self-governing country. This was the very first big step we took to become our own country. And if we hadn’t have separated from England we wouldn’t be the country we are today. This helped build our nation and bring us closer together so we were united as one. This is when we realized we could be something bigger than what we were.

Since then America has been on their own, with the democracy they choice, everything how they would like no more getting ruled by Britain.
It was the 4th of July in 1776 when delegates from all thirteen colonies assembled at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Not knowing the full significance of what was about to take place that day,the delegates would do something that would forever change the course of the American people.
The purpose was to justify the revolution of the “new” colonies. Many of the people were excited for the plan. This explained the basic human rights for each American citizen. The entire document is centered around how each person is equal, and it has been given by God. The second part of the document is composed of lists of grievances. This section listed complaints about the ruler of Great Britain at the time, George III. This, of course, spoken against the ideas of the king, and the ideas of a overpowering monarchy. The third part of the document was the resolution, or conclusion. The resolution concluded that the colonists have officially broken away from Great Britain. With the closing part, the colonists had officially separated from Great Britain. American colonists had been suffering for many years when this important document was drafted. King George III had pushed the colonists into a state of tyranny and most decided it was time to start an independent nation under a different type of government. Jefferson focused his piece toward many audiences. He wanted not only King George III and the British Parliament to know the American's feelings, but also the entire world. The time had come for an immense change amongst the American colonists and Jefferson made sure everyone was aware of it by using his superior strategies of persuasion.

It was written to state the grievances that the colonists held against the British, particularly the king. The colonists wanted a better economy, a new republican government, but perhaps most of all, they simply wanted their misery to end. This is what they set out to explain in the document. John Adams described it as “a Declaration setting forth the causes which have impelled us to this mighty revolution, and the reasons which will justify it in the sight of God and man” (Friedenwald 182).

There are many important factors in the Declaration of Independence, which enable the foundation of a new government. These range from describing grievances with England, to how government should be run differently, to the first statement of separation. The first step to the foundation of a new government is the uniting of people in a common goal. Since all people were feeling violated by English soldiers, it was necessary to state these grievances in order to make people aware that they are not alone. When people learned that others felt the same as them, emotion was stirred.

After it was written, 56 delegates coming from all of the 13 colonies signed the Declaration of Independence in order to make it official. This document served great justice during the Atlantic Revolution; it sought to make a difference as to how the colonies were in terms of their alliance with Britain. Though did not muster much public interest after it finished serving its initial purpose, it has become increasingly significant since the 19th century and among which the universal truths it holds stood out. Haiti and India are among the countries that draw inspiration from the United States declaration to frame their own declaration of independence, though modified to their needs and their historical backgrounds.
