In what sports do concussions occur the most? By: Allen Katsva Intro: Concussions can cause very serious injuries in many sports today. Many Pro-athletes have suffered at least one concussion. A Concussion is a very common injury in many sports. Many people try to prevent these because they can affect their lives a lot. Before you can come back to playing that you play, there are many stages you must pass after getting a concussion. Going through a concussion is very difficult. Concussions could happen in any sport and at any time. And a lot of the time they happen when you don’t suspect it. Concussions are most common in many Pro sports. Many concussions also happen in many youth sports. The way equipment is used also affects concussions. Concussions are unpredictable in sports. What is a concussion?: A concussion is a very common injury in many sports. Many athletes and kids that suffer a concussion may quit a sport because of it, but many athletes and kids might still play the sport after they suffered one. Every concussion has many symptoms. They have even changed the rules because of it. The rule they changed was the heading rule. Kids that are 12 or younger are not aloud to head the ball (Cantu, Robert, Et Al.2/20/15). But if they do head the ball, they get a penalty. This shows that every youth soccer league is trying to prevent concussions from happening to many children in soccer. Youth Ice Hockey gets lots and lots of concussions. Just like soccer, they had to switch the rules a little bit. The rule they changed was about checking. They made it so kids under 12 years old can not check. Checking is like knocking someone into the boards. This shows that many youth ice hockey leagues are trying to prevent kids getting
