Steven Demetre Georgiou AKA Cat Stevens AKA Yusuf Islam a British singer and songwriter was born in July 21, 1948 in Marylebone, London, England. Cat Stevens was one of the best musicians in the 70’s. This musician gave up everything he had for Islam and the belief in god. Cat Stevens wasn’t only a musician he was also a multi instrumentalist, humanitarian and education philanthropist. He actually wrote a children’s book called “teaser and the fire cat”.
Cat Stevens was the third child, he had a Greek father and a Swedish mother. He had an older sister (Anita) and a brother (David). His family lived above the Moulin Rouge restaurant that his parents owned on the north end of Shaftesbury Avenue that was a short walk from Piccadilly Circus in the Soho Theater in London. All of his family members worked in the restaurant.
His parents got divorced when he was about eight years old, but they continued to take care of the family restaurant and live above it. His father was an Orthodox and his mother a Baptist but he was sent to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Primary School because it was closer to his fathers business on Drury lane. Georgiou got interested in pianos at a young age, and then he started using the family piano to work out the chords. No one else there played good enough to teach him. He was inspired by the popularity of The Beatles when he was fifteen. Then he got interested to the guitar, he begged his father to pay eight pounds for his first instrument, and began playing it and writing songs. He would run away sometimes from his family to the rooftop above their home. He used to listen to the tunes of the music around the corner. It was his dream to become a singer.

George Gershwin was born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 26 1898. He began playing piano when he was 11 after his parents bought a piano for their other son Ira. Gershwin, realizing his own talent, took it upon himself to find a mentor so he could hone his own skills. He found a mentor in Charles Hambitzer, who was a popular piano instructor in his time. Hambitzer was extremely impressed with his pupil and in a letter to his sister Hambitzer wrote “I have a new pupil who will make his mark if anybody will. The boy is a genius.” Throughout his life Gershwin would study under other noted teachers such as Henry Cowell, Wallingford Riegger, Edward Kilenyi, and Joseph Schillinger.
Throughout the course of history there has been many remarkable people that have created an impact on the world. But what is hero? Robert F. Kennedy once said, “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or lots of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a ripple of hope.” Meaning a true hero is someone who can stand up for an idea, or can help eliminate the unfair treatment in which the rights of a person are ignored; and everytime gives people the faith that everything is going to be okay after all. John Lennon is a good example of a hero based on Robert F. Kennedy's description of a hero. John lennon is a hero because he peacefully fought against war through his fame and music, promoting peace and inspiring many people.

He spent his childhood in St. Louis and was interested in music by age 12, when he started to take trumpet lessons. At 16, he took up opportunities to play music locally and a year later, Davis joined Eddie Randle’s group known as “The Blue Devils” (Macnie; “Miles Davis” Sony; Ruhlmann).
Robert Allen Zimmerman, more famously known as “Bob Dylan,” was born on May 24th, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota. Dylan is a famous American folksinger who infused folk music with rock and roll. His music career began in the early 1960s when he made his way to New York to join the folk scene, following in his idols’ footsteps, Woody Guthrie. Quickly, Dylan received a record deal and created a set of some of the most powerful protest songs to date. He has been an influential figure in popular culture and music over more than half a century; many refer to him as a “voice of a generation,” with songs that spoke for people during the Civil Rights Movement and anti-Vietnam war movement. His lyrics incorporate a vast range of social and political influences.
The changes in rock and roll music reflected the mood of the population in the United States during the Vietnam War. Rock and roll, written as rock ‘n’ roll, music was fully born in the 1950’s and formed from electric blues and gospel music. Rock and roll is characterized by electric guitars, a strong rhythm and youth-orientated music. This music became popular because of the children of the decade. Parents called this type of music “noise.” While parents were listening to calm music, their children were listening to rock n roll.
The rising punk rock scene that has existed for decades is notorious for how easy it is to get on stage. The spotlight usually does not last long which causes bands to come and go, but that treasured few moments captures an indescribable adrenaline rush that is compared to a similar rush that results from using drugs. The lifestyles of some musicians fall into this desire for a thrill while some musicians can control it.

The results for rock and classical music did not supported the hypothesis, which rock music causes a person to have an aggressive mood, and classical music will lead to a calmer mood. The data support the primacy effect pop music results supported the hypothesis that pop music leads to a happier mood. The results from this data support from previous literature research such as the pop category. The results could also interpret as support for (Hargreaves, 1999). People make their music preferences based on the emotional state they are in (Hargreaves, 1999). The analysis revealed that pop music scored higher than students who had rock or classical. The implications for this study are to examine if music influence mood in a negative or positive aspect). As an outcome happiness mood correlated with pop music .
