Continued growth in technology has seeped into all aspects of life for enhancement, including education. There are numerous types of technology that have already been developed such as websites, apps, and physical tools that add flavor in and out of the class, while others help better develop content. Still, all are developed to have a lasting positive impact on the students who use them. One example that is reaching wide popularity is Canva.
Canva is a fun and creative website that teachers can use as starting place to design in class or out of class materials for their students. It started out as an idea from creative design teachers that wanted to make learning the basics to creative design more easy to learn. Aleks is an online course that tests and helps students learn outside of the classroom for grade levels K-12. It starts with the current skill level of the student, then crates lessons based on each individual student’s needs. Then the course assess the students as they progress through the program. Aleks focuses on four major subjects: math, business, science, and behavioral science. Teachers can use this website as a secondary measure to see if students retained the information covered in class. Teachers can also rely on Aleks as a proper tool for independent time in the classroom for students to be able to move at their own pace.
