Everybody values and views sports in different ways. Most athletes believe that the sport they excel in is the easiest and the best to play. Most baseball players believe that baseball is not the easiest sport to play, even if they excel in baseball. Baseball has a 282 page rule book, but other sports like football only have 82 pages of rules to follow. Baseball is unique because it is the only sport where the defense controls the ball, and where doing good on offense thirty percent of the time is considered good.
Baseball is one of the hardest sports to play. Baseball, unlike every other sport, does not have a certain location to bring the ball to or a goal to put the ball in. Just like a team, if a player exceeds in all five of those categories they are what some people call a five tool baseball player. In all other team sports any one player can play well if they are only good in one thing. In basketball if the player can shoot, handle, or rebound the ball they are considered good, but in baseball if the player can only hit for average that player is not considered good. Hitting for average is a good trait to have in baseball, but according to most sports analyst only having one or two tools in baseball is not considered being good. Hitting for power by itself is a good trait to have in baseball. Most hitters that hit for power usually have a spot in the batting lineup. If a player can hit for contact and power they will usually play, but they will only be in the batting lineup.
