Art has accomplished many things for this country. It has created jobs, changed the United States as a culture, revealed American history, conveyed political messages, caused movements, and served as entertainment. Having art constantly change in America has truly made it a better place, along with having a long, lasting effect. Art has created many new jobs as technology has advanced. It has created jobs such as Architect, Graphic Designer, Writer, Dancer, Painter and many others. Since technology is always expanding, there is always a constant opening for new jobs. Because of that, the demand for art based jobs is increasing. Having new jobs for Americans, specifically art jobs, can benefit America in many ways. Many famous artists painted pictures of the battles, what places looked like in the good times, and what feelings and thoughts artists expressed. Through their work, we can also see what historical events looked like, and the surrounding events. Art has influenced history for the better. For instance, Harriet Beecher Stowe’s Uncle Tom’s Cabin was published at a time when no one fully understood what was going on in a slave’s life. Once the book was published, many people’s opinions changed on the thoughts of owning slaves. Artists who painted pictures or wrote about the battles during wars help us understand how it was during wartimes. Artists also helped us understand what famous historical figures looked like. With art forms, such as political cartoons, art has conveyed and changed political views. Political cartoons have been around for over two hundred years, and have constantly had a role in our nation’s political views.
