Teenagers love to play sports and stay active. Sometimes those sports and activities can get in the way of schoolwork. This makes teens lives busy and most people will tend to focus on how sports can influence a person’s life in a negative way. Many people forget what can happen if a teenager does not play sports. Playing a high school sport can make a teenagers life busy and hectic; teenagers benefit from the many positives of playing a high school sport. Playing a sport helps teenagers stay out of trouble, stay healthy, get better grades, keep their lives in order, and allow them to learn how to juggle many activities at once.
One of the most obvious effects of playing a high school sport is that it helps teens stay healthy. Studies show that young adults that play sports tend to have a stronger bone density than kids that do not. Teens with a higher bone density are less likely to break bones. Teen athletes will live a healthier lifestyle. Many experts say that kids need at least sixty minutes a day of exercise. Playing sports allows teens to get that sixty minutes of play to help live a healthier lifestyle. The needed exercise that kids obtain by playing a sport helps them stay active and healthy. Some athletes will take steroids to help them perform better, because they feel insecure about their place on the team. There is also, always a risk for major injuries. Some injuries can be career ending and become a hindrance for the rest of a persons life. Playing a sport will allow teens to open many opportunities, but close some too.
There are positives and negatives that come from playing a sport. Teens are able to fit in many activities at once, stay healthy, stay out of trouble, get better grades, and keep their lives in order. Kids will learn to live a healthy and safe lifestyle when playing a sport. Playing a sport will help them with their future.
