Two countries have been separated by walls and rivers for decades now. Theses wall and rivers are the border between Mexico and the United States of America. Forty feet is the difference between two cultures that can never be called the same. The etiquette, government, and house hold families are little of what make these countries so different.
The (pop) culture in America has been changing since the revolutionary war. Simple things that we do every day have all evolved from the beginning, Things like dinning etiquette, greeting, and the style of clothes have been changing every year. From the hippie style in the 1960 to t-shirts and jeans now.
The Mexican culture is a very old and sacred culture. It started with the accent Mayans and Aztecs that lived in central now a day Mexico. Then in the early 1600 the Spaniards came across the ocean from now a day Spain to expand their land and control. The Aztecs and Mayans clashed with the Spaniards until the lost and gave in. These two cultures melted together over time to make the unique Mexican culture. The culture has been molded in the modern Mexican culture. A lot of things have changed but some of the accent rituals still remain imbedded in the culture.
One thing that is easy to spot in a culture is the way that people great each other. The way that people great each other in America vs. Mexico may seem similar but actually are very different. The greeting in America’s pop culture has a variety. First off the greeting between two people that now each other is very relaxed. Usually a hug or a custom handshake is used to greet a friend. The last thing that defines a culture is the families. America’s families are very small. Relatives and cousins usually live on their own far away. It seems that individualism is prized in America and people are proud of their individual accomplishments. However in Mexico it is a completely different story. The family are usually very large and they are the centre of the social structure. Most families are extremely traditional with a decision maker in the family, and mothers are cherished. All family members feel that it is necessary to help the family as much as they can. These families are rooted into the culture and make a stable community.
Altogether these cultures are far from the same even though only rivers and wall separate them. However is that over time maybe these cultures will bind together to make a new cultures.
