As his voice erupts through the broadcast, a quote rings through the nation’s ears. “The human brain now holds the key to our future. We have to recall the image of the planet from outer space: a single entity in which air, water, and continents are interconnected. That is our home.” This quote demonstrates the confident voice of David Suzuki presents his keen identity. He has a twin sister Marcia and two other siblings Geraldine and Dawn. His early childhood was mainly devoted in the back of Suzuki's parents' little dry cleaning business in Marpole. At the age of 6, Suzuki’s life devastatingly changed. In 1942, the Canadian government announced a war on Japan. On the other hand, Severn-Cullis Suzuki takes on the spotlight from her father and is currently a Canadian environmental activist, speaker, television host and author. Suzuki himself is also a grandfather of four, including a blind boy with cerebral palsy. Not only Suzuki himself is making an impact on the world but his family too. In conclusion, David Suzuki is an environmental activist, a hero, a scientist, and a Canadian. There are not enough words to describe the heroic efforts of David Suzuki. Society often emphasizes people in sports, politics and media idols. No one focuses on real heroes – the heroes on the front line of today’s issues. The individuals who are making an impact on the betterment of our future, these are the true heroes worth celebrating and supporting.
