What is the one thing that you think sets you apart from other candidates applying to the University of California?

I stand out from the rest for one core feature of my personality. That feature is my persistent desire to further improve and educate myself. While everyone applying to a university wishes to better themselves by pursuing a higher education I mean the statement in a different sense. I remember that before I even started kindergarten I have been drawn to bizarre and unique activities and hobbies so I had to educate myself on the subjects. In middle school I decided that what I wanted in life was to learn the unicycle, I had never met anyone that rode one and I wanted to show my individualism. I came acrossed it by chance, I attended UC Davis Picnic Day and was drawn to a display on entomology. I explored the exhibit and ended up talking to a professor of entomology for a long time, considering that I was only12 years old at the time the professor found my interest in the subject endearing and offered for me to attend the Undergraduate Entomology Club he heads and later he arranged for me to intern at the Bohart Museum of Entomology. The first time I traveled to Belize I went as an assistant for a biodiversity class by Sonoma State. This trip inspired me to pursue a research project in Belize the following year. I created a proposal for a project involving the dung beetles of Belize and submitted it to a national entomology journal. They funded my project with an 800 dollar grant and I able to go and conduct a legitimate biology project. This internship has caused me to fall in love with the field of entomology and influenced my decision to be an entomologist as my
