When it comes Hip Hop, artists are placed in hierarchy depending on their lyrical abilities. Artist with the ability to spit, mime, and rhyme word or lyrics exceptionally are considered superior when compared to their fellow artist, and are well respected in the industry. Due to their ability to outperform their peers, they are often referred to as “rap god”, which signifies that they could create like a god. When considering an artist to be a rap god, the artist that most fit this role is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, or Eminem as he is popularly known.
Since the past two decades, few artists have had the ability to capture and keep the attention of the American public like Eminem. He spent most of his young life within the projects of Missouri and Detroit, where he struggled to make friends, as a result, he dropped out of school after failing the ninth grade for the third time. Since the release of his first album, Eminem has released multiple award-winning albums, and has become arguably one of the greatest rappers in America today. One of his award-winning song that has earned him the title, “rap god”, is the song he titled rap god.

Through his career, Eminem has been a source of inspiration to most young Americans, who believe that they can turn their lives around through rap music and Hip Hop. In addition to inspiring other artist, Eminem has also contributed immensely to the evolution of rap music by setting the bar high for upcoming rap artist who would want to venture into meaningful rap music. Upon analyzing all of Eminem’s career achievements, and contribution into rap music and the music industry, it is obvious that he deserves his current ranking, and has solidify his position as a rap
