Embalming is the art and science of preserving human remains by treating them from decomposition. The intention of embalming is to keep them suitable for public display at a funeral or a religious part of one’s life. Although many people do not get to witness the process of embalming, it has been used since the ancient Egyptians era of mummification (Britannica, 2014). It is required for the body to be embalmed, the embalming fluid preserves the body indefinitely, and smoking the embalming fluid are three unknown facts about the embalming.

In fact, no state requires routine embalming and some do not require it at all (Mayer, R. G., & Reed, J. D., 2012). Embalming is legally required only for special reason and or circumstances such as when a body will be transported by plane or train, or when people have to wait a long time from death to burial (A. (c.d.). 2001-2003). “Embalming is the best method of presenting the decedent well through the memorial event,” (Mayer & Reed, 2012). Also I have come across that many states require people to embalm there love ones specially if [client] are going to bring the body across to other state for burial, such as Alabama, Alaska and New Jersey.
