Elvis Presley, the rockin’ rockstar that lost it all in the blink of an eye. Elvis used to be dirt poor when he was younger. But when he graduated high school he went to a recording studio and recorded his voice. His voice made him a famous singer and even a movie star (Hardinge 4).

On January 8, 1935 Elvis Aron Presley was born. Elvis had a twin brother named Jesse Garron Presley, but he died a few hours after he was born (Denenberg 4). Elvis’ family was very poor. They had trouble getting money. Their family was so poor they had to wear rags as shoes (Hardinge). Vernon Elvis Presley did not have a job skill or many skills at all. Most days he spent his spare change from work on alcohol (Denenberg 5). Gladys Presley was Elvis’ mother.
