The main elements of the Japanese bushido is that a samurai should be courageous in battle, loyal to his shogun or daimyo, kind, and merciful. The bushido stressed that a samurai should be education and support the arts. The bushido also explained an act of suicide through a ritual called the hira-kira. In this ritual, if a samurai fails to complete his duty, he was expected to use a knife to cut his abdomen, after which an assistant would cut off the warrior’s head.

The main elements of the European chivalry was that a knight should defend the Christian church, offer loyalty to his lord, be courageous in battle, and also be generous to the feeble. Knights also often championed a lady by protecting her and defending her honor.

Some of these includes: being loyal to your leader, courageous in battle, being generous, kind, merciful, being education, and supporting arts. All of these traits together would make up a very good code of conduct for our warriors, and together they would make up a very good warrior or leader.
