Elections in India: Rahul Gandhi vs. Narendra Modi

The general elections in India are less than a month away and this time more than 800 million people a number larger than Europe’s population are set to cast their vote to elect the government which is going to rule India for the coming four years. Although there is such large scale of voting it ultimately comes down to two people. The future of a country with a population of 1.2 billion people is going to be placed in the hands of these two people. These people who come from two very different background and and have two very different ideologies will battle it out to become the 22nd prime minster of the country .It is a battle between Rahul Gandhi of the Indian national congress and Narendra Modi of the Bharatiya Janata Party or so called BJP and these two people are two very different people and the most important differences between them are their backgrounds, their ideologies and finally their past achievements or disappointments.
Born into the prestigious Gandhi family Rahul Gandhi was never meant to enter politics his father the late Rajeev Gandhi was the former prime minister of India just like his mother Indira Gandhi and her father Jawaharlal Nehru but the after the assainination of his father by Sri Lankan extremists his mother Sonia Gandhi was forced to enter the dirty business of Indian politics and now after his mother Rahul Gandhi had to enter politics and he ended up becoming the prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 general election. On the other hand Narendra Modi had a very humble beginning. Starting his life as tea vendor on the streets of Gujarat he later joined the BJP and gradually rose to power and ended up becoming the chief minster of Gujrat for four terms which is equal to 12 years and now bein...

...all up to the Indian population to choose between these two people and make one of them their leader who will lead them either into the light or darkness .As the world gears up the watch the largest election that have even happens it is all up to the Indian people who are to elect a person who will shape the nation also due to the growing power of the subcontinent in the global market it is has also attracted a lot of foreign attention. It might be a risky affair to place absolute power in the hands of a few but it is a risk which Indians are willing to take as Winston Churchill once said “democracy is the worst form of Government except for all the other forms of government”.so with 2014 election is approaching fast almost every nation and the entire population is now in a dilemma on who will win and what will be the fate of the country in the upcoming future.
