The topic that I chose to focus on is how educational inequality affects the young mind. I chose to research Educational inequality because it is viewed as a huge problem around the world. I believe that educational inequality is significant because inequality in education causes numerous problems for society, such as poor government education policies. The assigned readings and class discussions influenced my choice of question because I wanted to learn about the many different ways that educational inequality affected young people around the world. The article focuses on educational inequality in Canada. Educational Inequality has become the key area that is influenced by the income of families in Canada. In the article “Educational Inequality” states that children who come from low income families often start school falling behind their peers who come from more affluent families, as shown in the measures of school readiness. Also in the article “The impact of poverty on educational outcomes for children” it states over the past decade, the unfortunate reality income gap has widened Canadian families. Authors Oppedisano V and Turati G, states that besides parental background, schools characteristics are also important determinants of inequality in achievement among students. Also in the article it states that there is a positive contribution toward reducing Inequality coming from the evolution of inequality across schools in Germany and Spain, while the opposite occurs in France and Italy. The education difference in Germany, Spain, France and Italy show that characteristics at the school level may play an important role, when affecting educational inequality, despite the heterogeneity of the institutional context that schools operate in. Lastly, inequality is a big problem because the article focuses on educational inequality in rural and urban Sindh. Authors Saeed and Ambreen both introduce the estimate of educational Inequality for the major districts of Sindh.
